I have just returned from back to back South America cruises on Princess Cruise lines totaling 30 days taking us from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to San Francisco, California. We visited the beautiful Copacabana & Ipanema beaches in Rio, watched the Samba dancers and even got a taste of the Carnival parade. Other stops included Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Equador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and then on to Mexico and finally to San Francisco. Along the way you can get up close and personal with the penguins in the Falkland Islands, take a bus to the “end of the world” where the Pam American Highway ends, visit Estancia’s in Argentina and visit local markets everywhere, the possibilities are endless. If anyone is contemplating cruising in South America I love talking about the experience. It was amazing.

In the past year we had several marvelous trips. Recently we spent 2 fantastic week in Turkey with Intrepid Tours and saw the historical sights in Istanbul as well as the natural wonders of Capadoccia. We went hot air ballooning over the hoodoos, sailed along the coast of the Mediterranean coast and explored the incredible sights at Ephesus. We next spent a relaxing week at the Riu Palace in Puerto Vallarta and loved the 5 star pampering that Riu hotels are famous for. I am looking forward to a week cruising on the MSC Fantasia this May from Barcelona Spain to Marseille France and with stops in Italy and Sicily as my next adventure. Then it is on to cruising with Uniworld River Cruise Line to see the Christmas Markets in Germany, which is a dream of mine.

I recently took a Princess Cruise Lines Canada New England cruise from New York. What a wonderful way to visit maritime Canadian cities including Sydney, Halifax and Charlottetown and the eastern seaboard of the US stopping at Bar Harbour, Boston and Newport and back to New York. This is itinerary is popular in the fall to see the spectacular autumn colors. New York is an exciting city to explore, I’m heading there again at the end of May for my third visit in 3 years, there is so much to see and do! A Hop on Hop Off Bus tour is a great way to tour the city at your own pace, and a you can get “day of show” half price tickets for Broadway at the TKTS Booth in Times Square. We have wholesalers with very good rates on hotels and sightseeing in the Big Apple and there are a number of cruises which start or end there, it’s a great way to combine and cruise vacation and visit to this exciting city.

January 27th, 2012 I flew to Nassau, Bahamas for a week of R&R. I decided to book myself into two different resorts so that I could experience what each had to offer my clients. I started out by staying at the RIU Paradise Island Resort. This hotel was originally the Sheraton but was purchased by the RIU brand of hotels about three years ago. The RIU Paradise Island neighbors’ the Atlantis so I was quite happy to explore both the RIU and the Atlantis Resorts while on Paradise Island. We moved over to Sandals Royal Bahamian for the next four nights. Simply elegant and luxury in every sense, definitely 5* service all the way. I enjoyed Nassau, I found it very easy to get around and everything was within walking distance down town. You can take the No6 bus for $1.50 per direction from any hotel around Nassau to the straw market down town. There is also a water taxi that leaves Paradise Harbour and arrives at Nassau’s main dock every 25minutes for those who are interested in shopping or just touring around the main land. This August my husband and I will board the Uniworld River Queen to travel From Amsterdam to Budapest – that’s one off my bucket list.
